Fan Works Notice

We have recently published an easy reference document to help give a little more guidance to those seeking to make fan works, fancasts and other pieces of derivative media under our Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International Licence. We support our fans and encourage their work, art and expression. (Indeed our upcoming Instagram launch seeks to better celebrate and create a repository for amazing fan art in picture and film but more on that soon). Unfortunately, it has recently came to our attention that some infringing works have been produced. We seek to curb this as ultimately it can negatively impact our licensing position and can be unfair on the hardworking fan creators following the rules to the letter. Download our notice here. Our email mail@rustyquill.com for help and guidance on how to proceed with your fan work!

Rusty Fears

Welcome folks! Apologies for the dust, it’s been a while since we’ve opened up the Customer Service desk here. But we have some exciting news for you today. And an opportunity… If you’re a fan of The Magnus Archives, you’ll probably know by now that we will be taking a mid-season break after MAG100 (April 5th 2018). This is so we can get some production issues sorted, finalise Season 3 castings, and just give Jonny a chance to lay down his pen for a few moments. [cue Alex voice] The Magnus Archives will resume on May 17th 2018. Rest assured, we have some nifty treats planned for the break so your feeds will not be empty. A key part of Rusty Quill’s ethos is to provide an outlet for new talent, in whatever form we can highlight (e.g. voice acting, art, production). Which is why I’m really pleased to announce RQ’s first proper competition! Would you like to hear YOUR words on air? Then this is your opportunity! We are offering the chance for 2 people to have their original horror story produced and read out by Jonny and/or other members of the RQ crew (depending on availability) as part of the upcoming break. Full details are provided below, but you’ve got 1 month to get your creative pieces to us and a judging panel of Jonny & Alex will choose 2 lucky pieces to undergo the RQ treatment and be released in the main #MagnusPod feed. So, pick up those quills and get writing! RUSTY FEARS – a RQ Horror Writing competition Terms & Conditions Competition closes at midnight GMT on Sunday 1st April 2018. Survey says…

Welcome, welcome… oh don’t mind the bottles, we’ve been celebrating reaching the end of Season 2 of The Magnus Archives and the crew are taking some much needed R&R before we start work on Season 3. While you’re here though, would you mind helping us out a bit? See, there’s this SURVEY we’d really like if you could fill in. We’ve been asked to put this out by our hosting company, so that they might be able to better tailor their advertising on our podcast and, hopefully, means that we can get a better share of the ad revenue. Which, in turn, means more money we can put towards improving our productions. The survey is being handled by a third party and no personal data is collected – we will only ever see anonymised, aggregate information. Thanks in advance; everyone here at Rusty Towers is grateful for you taking the time to help us out! Survey can be found: HERE
