  • WOE.BEGONE: Music From The Podcast Season 4 Is Now Available On Bandcamp 2:18

Today (10/6) is Bandcamp Friday, which means that Bandcamp doesn't take a cut of album sales today. To celebrate, I am releasing WOE.BEGONE: Music From The Podcast Season 4, a selection of songs from the season 4 soundtrack that have been polished, reworked, remixed, and remastered into the best versions of themselves. There are shiny new versions of instrumental moments in the show, songs that have been reworked into vocal arrangements, a complete reworking of the I Wonder What It Is About That Place EP, and, of course, Cenotaph. Two versions of it, in fact! One of which is a lovely remix by my friend Athans.

The album is $5 on Bandcamp and is also available to $5+ patrons, both as a full album stream and in the form of Bandcamp download codes. Be sure to check out the other Bandcamp offerings: the soundtrack albums, the rootin' tootin' country and western compilation Cowboys, the vocal album I Have Been To The Future, and the beattape The American Bison.

    Thanks for playing.

[Warning: This episode contains a depiction of violence. Listener discretion is advised.]

The local park is about to be developed and when Michael accidentally chains himself to a tree with his bike; he is mistaken for an activist and asked to run for city council. However, MW struggles to understand the concept of each person's opinion counting, believing there to be a right and a wrong party to vote for, and that Michael is standing for the wrong party. Meanwhile, an underhanded opposition leader (Marissa Ng) hires Officer Charlie to dig up dirt on Michael, hoping to damage his campaign and stop him from winning.

  • The Diary Of Aliza Schultz Has Joined The Rusty Quill Network! 2:07

Hey guys. The Diary Of Aliza Schultz has joined the Rusty Quill Network! If you aren't familiar, the Rusty Quill Network is why that guy says "Rusty Quill Presents..." at the beginning of every episode of WOE.BEGONE.  In addition to that cool intro, the Rusty Quill Network provides me with opportunities to reach new audiences and expand the show in new and interesting ways. Speaking of: season 2 is already underway and I am excited about the directions it is going in. Expect more of that soon.

If you haven’t listened to The Diary Of Aliza Schultz yet, now is a great time to start. The whole first season plus 2 episodes of the second season are available wherever you listen to podcasts. And, as of today, the 2022 Aliza Schultz Halloween special is available in both the WOE.BEGONE and Aliza Schultz feeds. It's called "A Single Night In Wolford" and it's a standalone story, so you don't have to listen to the rest of The Diary Of Aliza Schultz to understand it.

To reiterate, The Diary Of Aliza Schultz is on its own RSS feed, so seek it out wherever you listen to podcasts. And, as with WOE.BEGONE, nothing is going to change about the show other than my ability to make it better. I am still fully independent in my creative vision. With that being said, enjoy The Diary Of Aliza Schultz and the new Halloween special.

  • NINE II MIDNIGHT – Prologue 8:19

On the Eve of Halloween, 14 storytellers make their way to the Darklight Carnival and share horrific tales of mystery and murder… but not all is as it seems.

This October 30th, the feed you’re listening to now, along with all other participating shows, will post two episodes simultaneously for Nine II Midnight. One episode will feature tales that are baked in reality with terrors that may be a part of our waking life. The other episode will share the horror of the most esoteric and spiritual side of the dark and terrifying.

NINE II MIDNIGHT is another collaborative storytelling event, and sequel to last year’s episode. Both episodes are comprised of stories written and produced by the Nine II Midnight participants:

    Hell Gate City

    Malevolent

    Nowhere, On Air

    Out of the Ashes

    Parkdale Haunt

    The Cellar Letters

The Dead Letter Office of Somewhere, Ohio

    The Night Post

    The Storage Papers

    The Town Whispers

    Wake Of Corrosion

    WOE.BEGONE

On October 30th, you get to choose which stories you want to enjoy first, then, make sure to listen to the other for the complete tale.

    See you then.

  • The All Vocal WOE.BEGONE Album, “I Have Been To The Future” Is Available Now On Bandcamp! 1:25
If you're listening to this on the day that it comes out (September 2nd), then that means that it's Bandcamp Friday. If you don't already know, Bandcamp Friday is an event where Bandcamp waives its revenue share for 24 hours, which means that if you buy a WOE.BEGONE album I will receive all of the proceeds. And so, to celebrate, I am putting a new WOE.BEGONE album up on the bandcamp: http://woebegonepod.bandcamp.com   The album is called "I Have Been To The Future" and it is a collection of every song with vocals that has appeared in WOE.BEGONE. This includes songs that had vocals in the episodes like "Cenotaph" and "Wilderness," as well as songs that had vocals added for the soundtracks albums like "Hunter The Bear" or "Can I Stay Here Awhile?"... and 6 bonus tracks because I couldn't help myself.   The resulting album is 40 tracks long and clocks in at just under 3 and a half hours. "I Have Been To The Future" will cost $10 and be available at woebegonepod.bandcamp.com, as well as being free for $5 and up patrons (patreon.com/woe_begone). The album will be up on streaming services eventually, but not yet.   So, enjoy "I Have Been To The Future" and happy Bandcamp Friday.   BANDCAMP: http://woebegonepod.bandcamp.com PATREON: http://patreon.com/woe_begone

  • Nine To Midnight 1:35:20

On the eve of Halloween, nine storytellers make their way to an abandoned asylum to share their terrifying truths about the darkness that exists around them. As the tales unfold, each more visceral than the last, the nine may just discover that it is not the waking world to fear, but the horrors that lay within.

    Lyrics:

Walking home I am a little tired

you would mistake me for anyone

It was a heavenly body before I was anything

I was feeling heavy about it even before it got a chance to lift me

    in a desperate hum

I gave it what it wants (mmmmmmm)

    I was saying

    the decline

    was coming shortly

I can not predict the future

    but I’m not trying

    oh I’m not trying

I mean do you really have to wonder

what kind of person gets in so far?

The sky was streaked with anger

across the middle like a scar

and I was living wrong with that

    always ready to finish

    dispossessed from an ending

    I swear is near

    It’s a miracle

    transcended on the floor

    where the dirt is

    I am having too much

    fun with it

    I’m supposed to be serious

spilling out an infection into open wounds

the bark of a tree to cure what ails

I never intended to defend myself

I gave it what it wants and that was it

I gave it what it wants

    and that was it.

I mean do you really have to wonder

what kind of person gets in so far?

The sky was streaked with anger

across the middle like a scar

and I was living wrong with that

    always ready to finish

    dispossessed from an ending

    I swear is near

Walking home I am a little tired

you would mistake me for anyone.
